Riva 88’ Folgore wins in the “Best New Series” category and Pershing 140 Touch Me in “Best Naval Architecture”
 
 
Milan, 12th July 2021 – After the enthusiasm shown by owners and aficionados comes confirmation from industry experts: Riva 88’ Folgore and Pershing 140 Touch Me are truly exceptional motor yachts that look set to leave a mark on the evolution of contemporary yachting.
And this judgement couldn’t come from a more qualified panel of experts than those at the BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards, who assigned the top prize to the Riva sport-fly in the “Best New Series” category and to the Pershing fleet flagship in "Best Naval Architecture”, both “semi-displacement or planing motor yachts”.

Riva 88’ Folgore, heir to one of the brand’s top best sellers, presents new features in the exterior and interior design, in the ergonomics and in the materials used, combining them with Riva’s legendary stylistic hallmarks.
26.92 m (88.4 ft) long and 6.31 m (20.8 ft) in the beam, Riva 88’ Folgore is the result of collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, the firm headed by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta that designs the entire Riva range, the Product Strategy Committee led by Mr. Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.
This yacht has a razor focus on efficiency, with a design developed specifically to embrace materials like marble, plate glass and stainless steel without affecting performance. The design features new hull window styling and iconic mahogany and steel detailing combined with carbon fibre elements, expressing the perfect balance between past and present typical of Riva boats in recent years. Dominant, powerful and magnetic, but also electrifying, exciting and fun.
Pershing 140 Touch Me offers a peerless cruising experience that is winning over more and more enthusiasts with a fantastic blend of creativity, design and technology.
The result of collaboration between yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni, the Ferretti Group Product Strategy Committee led by Mr. Piero Ferrari, and the Group Engineering Department, Pershing 140 Touch Me confirms the sleek contours that embody the brand’s sporty, competitive personality, combined with new design features and iconic details, such as the two side wings incorporated in the superstructure at the start of the walkways. Other standout features are the raised helm station with direct access to the sun deck, the area reserved for the owner on the main deck, and the beach area that opens out over the water on three sides.
This yacht also features the use of fine materials and furniture by top luxury design brands, including: Poltrona Frau, a longstanding Pershing partner, Minotti, Artemide, Roche Bobois, Molteni, Fontana Arte.
