IMAGES FROM THE CANNES BOAT SHOW
Six are the riva boats exhibited at the 27th International Boat Show in Cannes, that will take place from Wednesday 8th to Monday 13th September in the port area of the beautiful French city. Sunriva 33', Aquariva 33', Rivarama 44', Rivale 52', Mercurius 59' and Opera 85'. It is the first time that the Opera, the 26-meter that represents the flagship of Riva's fleet, is exhibited at a boat show. In Cannes the new Riva catalogues will officially presented as book and dvd version (journalists find reference for the press conference in the media area). The Boat show is open at the public every day from 10.00 to 19.00. Monday 13th September the closing time will be at 18.00.Further information for dealers in their reserved area....more »

ON BOARD OF A RIVALE TO VISIT CROATIA' S PRESIDENT
A few miles from Brioni, one of the most enchanting islands of the dalmatian cost, there is the private island of Croatia'a president, Mr. Stiepana Mesica. It was the Croatian president that received recently a small Riva delegation that, on board of a Rivale, went to visit him. Unmissable, for some relatives and friends of the president, a mini-cruise in the surrounding beautiful sea with a souvenir picture. "The Croatian market, as well as the Slovenian one", says Mr. Matjaz Murko, Riva dealer for this area, "has become in the last year very interested in Riva' style and quality and offers from now already big chances of development"....more »

BIG SUCCESS OF RIVA TROPHY IN PORTO CERVO
It took place in Porto Cervo on 10th & 11th August, the second edition of Riva Trophy, the traditional summer meeting of Riva owners. More than 20 boats took part to the event competing in mooring, regularity and elegance races. Two big parties for our VIP guests. More than 500 people took part at the "Stars Night" at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, tasting all sort of gourmandise , from champagne to chocolate, from sorbets to sushi. On the night of 11th, Hotel Cala di Volpe hosted more than 200 guests. During the party the awards have been distributed by our sponsors. The overall first placed is the owner Mr. Giulio Durio with Riva Gipsy that together with his crew won an Audi TT Roadster....more »

The sailing regatas for the 8m World championship on the lake of Geneva are taking place from 3rd to 10th July 2004, organised by the Cercle de Voile de la Société Nautique de Genève. Next to Gstaad Yacht Club team on board of Elsinor, an Aquariva where, on Sunday 4th July, Mr. René Fatton, Mr. and Mrs. Sauerländer, also members of the Yacht Club and Mrs. Liliane Erzberger, Officer of the Club. At the Cartier Cup, dedicated to the Vintage boats, Elsinor, designed by Thore Holm in 1930, arrived second in its category. Some pictures of moments of the regata....more »

THE RIVA FLEET AT THE BRIONI ISLAND
During the last Riva Meeting of Portoroz-Triest, the fleet of vintage Rivas, with Rivale, Rivarama and Sunriva on the head navigated to Brioni, the residence island of president Tito, universally known for the beauty of the vegetation and the purity of the sea. The participants had lunch at on the island and relaxed before goign back to Portoroz. In the evening then some of the participants ave been awarded for the several nautical and automobilistic races done during the whole meeting. The gala dinner, at the seaside, has been concluded with a wonderful show of fireworks that enchanted everyone causing enthusiasm and clapping non only among the owners but also the guests of the Hotel S. The big Riva meeting started in Portoroz and Triest
Many fantastic vintage Rivas and three new jewels: a Rivale (recently won the price as best sprting boat of the year at the Portoroz Internautica Boat Show), a Rivarama and the newest Sunriva. So it started in Portoroz, the beautiful place on the slovenian cost, the traditional meeting of the Riva wooden boats.The event, realised with the co-operation of our local dealer Mennyacht, will last four days, from Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th June. there will be some cruises to Triest and along the slovenian and croation cost, up to the Brioni's island. the entire Marina of the Hotel Histrion haa been reserved for the event that is receiving a lot of interest from the several tourists - above all central europeans -- already present for the summer period. The launch of the Rivacafé project and the announcement of the opening of the first on in Como, on 1st July, also represents the confirmation of the co-operation plan between Riva and Veuve Clicquot announced last 15th May in Portofino (please see related news). For the Rivacafés, Veuve Clicquot, with the co-operation of the comapny Rossi&Bianchi, has created eight cocktails with a base of champagne, studied in a way to interpret emotions and the personality of Riva boats. Four are inspired by vintage Rivas and four by the present models. "And naturally, explained Francesca Terragni, Brand Director of the Maison in Italy, "their number will grow". No Riva? No Party!
Big bustle on the Como Lake for the filming of the movie "Ocean's Twelve", the continuation of the successful Ocean's Eleven. George Clooney's villa, in the little village of Laglio, hosted for ten days some of the most famous actors of the world cinema, from Brad Pitt to Julia Roberts, from Matt Damon to Catherine Zeta-Jones and to Vincent Cassel. Among the protagonist of the movie also a boat, and naturally it had to be a Riva, an Aquarama. But also another Riva's yacht was at the centre of the attention during the filming: the Aquaruva has been chosen by the actors all together as a courtesy boat for their movements around the lake and during their relaxing time, hidden from hundreds of fans and photographers of the agencies all over the world. With the Aquariva, George Clooney and Brad Pitt did some water-skiing while Julia Roberts, who is expceting twins, could travel repaired from the summer sun and in full comfort....more »

In the centre of the attention, admired by the public of big occasions, by the teams and their boat owners, Opera 85', Riva newborn flagship, has enchanted Portofino from 14th to 16th May, the "hottest" days during the Spring Regatas. Sold out the new edition of Electa's book dedicated to Riva
A week after its official presentation, Decio Giulio Riccardo Carugati's book dedicated to Riva, to its history and to its design is - according to what announced by the editor Electa-Mondadori - "technically sold out". This means that the entire edition (both for the Italian and English version), has been already booked and bought by the book shops all over the world. The artwork, that has been part of a collection dedicated to the most important brands that have marked the history of Made In Italy, covers Riva's life from its birth, 163 years ago, up to its last creations, Rivale and Sunriva. Together with the text, written by one of the major Italian expert in design history, there are hundreds of pictures of great historical and informative interest....more »

Opera 85' present at the Pirelli Regatas in Santa Margherita
The new flagship of Riva's fleet, the 26-meter Opera 85' in worlwide preview last week at the Yacht Club Italiano in Genoa, will be present on Sunday 9th May at the Pirelli Regatas, organised at Santa Margherita Ligure.
