IN MONACO AND ST. TROPEZ THE MOON GET DRESSED WITH RIVA

It ended on Saturday 8th July the first edition of the Riva Trophy Monaco-St. Tropez. The event, inspired by the successful meeting of Porto Cervo, that this year will take place as usual from 8th to 10th August, has given the occasion to Riva owners to meet in some of the utmost exclusive places on the Côte d’Azur having fun and enjoying their boats at the most. This brand new Riva rendez-vous, already to become one of the fixed dates in summer from now on, has seen the participation of 15 boats, which perfectly represent the Riva production since the 70s till today. Alongside two wonderful Super Aquaramas, in facts, they were present at the Trophy also a St. Tropez, a Diable, a Splendida and a Mercurius, fibreglass models which are perfect representatives of the Shipyard’s history. Obviously they couldn’t miss the current models: Aquariva, Rivarama, Rivale and even a brand new 75’ Venere, the model presented on last May in La Spezia. The Trophy has begun on Friday 7th with a reliability trial that measured participants navigation skills on a course between Monaco and St. Tropez and has continued with an afternoon on the Plage de Jumeaux dedicated to relax and fun, granted by the Pétanque competition organized by Veuve Clicquot. The day after, owners were given the chance to test their drive ability on the Leluc circuit thanks to the new Q7 put at disposal by Audi. The total amount of points gained during the different competitions has determined the winner of the Trophy, who has been given an original artwork made by Jean Michel Folon, the artist recently disappeared who was strictly linked to Riva. It has been the new 75’ Venere, which has also won the elegance competition. Alongside being the ones in challenge, the participants have been the judges of 7 artworks inspired by Riva. In this way the shipyard has affirmed once again its link with art. Participants chose the one realized by the artist Van Naeltwijck, while a selected jury of experts voted as the winner of the “Riva Art Trophy” Laurent Bosio. The winning sculpture, will be next year’s prize for the winner of the Riva Trophy. This event, organized with the collaboration of Riva’s historical dealer Monaco Boat Service and the Yacht Club Monaco, has also given the chance to present the brand new Riva Jewels collection, an exclusive line with an innovative design, steel made with gold and diamonds, that take its inspiration from themes and symbols of Riva world. Moreover, during the gala night on Saturday, also charity has played a major role, thanks to the support given to MAP association and in particular to its project linked to the ophthalmologic sustain in Niger.
