RIVA CONQUER THE AUSTRALIA: THE HISTORICAL SHIPYARD DOCKS AT SIDNEY
It has been concluded last week the business deal between Riva Shipyard and Addenbrooke Marine (the Australian company based in Sydney lead by Denis and Ned O’Neill) that provides for Addenbrooke Marine to become part of the Riva dealers network, with exclusive right for Australia. Denis and Ned O’Neill, father and son, are a well known name in the nautical world over seas: both in the sport world ( Denis O’Neill represented Australia in the Olympic Game in 1972 and 1976, in the 1968 he won the Sidney to Hobart yacht Race and in the 1992 he has been Director of the America’s Cup Challenge) and in the shipbuilding industry with a story of over 50 years.. “With the introduction of Addenbrooke Marine as Riva partner”, said Francesco Frediani – Sales & Marketing Manager Riva – “the shipyard enforce once again its presence and brand diffusion all over the world, coming in a dynamic market with big growth potentials. Since the beginning of this year, it is the second business deal signed by Riva: the first one, during the Barcelona Boat Show with the Ibiza Yacht Service for a dealership agreement in Spain and Balearics zone with the aim to strengthen the presence in the west Mediterranean and now this one in Australia, signed few days ago in Sidney. Sunriva, the fast and elegant central consolle signed by Riva, has been icluded by ADI - the Association for the Idustrial Design - in the volume ADI Index 2005. The ADI Index 2005 represents an important step in order to receive the most prestigious prize of production and planning quality in the design world: the Gold Compass of ADI. Selected for the extremely innovative design features and the final high quality of this boat, once again Riva thanks to Mauro Micheli, that together with Officina Italiana Design develops all the Riva boats actually in production, obtained a prize as leader of nautic design confirming the timless myth of its boats....more »

The international event dedicated to all the modelling enthusiasts, that in the past months dedicate themselves to the Haschette editorial project "build your Aquarama" - a model in scale 1:10 of the Riva Aquarama, the mythical runabout symbol of the Sixties and elected boat of the Century - ended Sunday, November 7th to the Riva shipyard of Sarnico. Just near Sunriva, Aquariva, Rivarama and Rivale, in the structures where today the myth goes on with the new models, over than 40 modelling enthusiast show their miniatures built with the same passion, attention for details and creativity. A board of expert examiners, including the Architect Giorgio Barilani, historical sign of Riva shipyard and Alessandro Petroli, advisor of the Italian Boat Modelling Assciation, evluated all the models and choose the winner of the event. During one of the most important events in the automobilistic field, the "Gran Premio Nuvolari edition 2005, 300 historical autos coming from all aver the world, for three days, from 16th to 18th September, challenging in a path long over 1,000 km, in the first day have been guest by Riva shipyard of La Spezia. After the technical stop the crews made a short pause for a wellcome drink and a visit of the boats over 65 feet, realized in the Riva shipyard of La Spezia. FERRUCCIO ROSSI APPOINTED GENERAL MANAGER
Ferruccio Rossi, 33 years-old, director at Permira & Associati's Milan offices has been appointed General Manager of Riva s.p.a. After working as a consultant in KPMG Consulting’s Corporate Finance Team and in investment banking for Ing Barings from 96 to 99, he joined J.P.Morgan as special project coordinator in the M&A team. In particular, since 2001 in Permira & Associati he has been responsible for industrial companies working in the transport, distribution and luxury goods sectors. Currently he is a member of the Ferretti Group’s and Grandi Navi Veloci’s Board of Directors. The decision of the Board of Directors of the Ferrettigroup to take on Ferruccio Rossi is aimed at strengthening the Sarnico company’s management team in order to consolidate the company’s growth five years on from becoming a part of the Group. During this period the Riva production that has added to its traditional site in Sarnico the new La Spezia yard where boats over 65’ in length are made, has risen from 22 to 57 units a year. Last year’s turnover, closed on August 2005, exceeded 75 million Euro, whilst the range of boats now includes models from 33’ to 115’ feet. From 7th to 9th September 2005, at the Sociology Faculty of the "Carlo Bo" University of Urbino, took place the convention "Arte o spettacolo? Fruitori, Utenti, attori". The convention, promoted by the instruction of Sociology of the art, meant to speed up a general reflection and to constitute a chance of discussion on the role that the communication has or can assume in the context of the art. Linda Kaiser, Scientific Adviser of the Riva Historical Archive, took part like critic-speaker on "Art or business? Comunicative strategies between private and public. The Riva case history". The debate that followed awoke the interest of the public and the other speakers around the case history of a prestigeous company that invests in culture on various projects: from the Historical Archives to the exhibitions, from the multimedia to the meetings, that create and strengthen the sense of belongings to the brand....more »

BACK TO THE ISEO LAKE THE RIVA WOODENBOATS MEETING
On the magic shores of the Iseo lake, on which overlooks the historical Riva shipyard and where in the year 2000 took place the “Riva Mllenium meeting”, dozens of passionate shipowners meet in the first weekend of September for the exclusive Riva meeting dedicated to the historical mohogany runabouts. The shipowners of these authentic jewels, together with their crews, started, Friday, September 2nd, the first part of the meeting parading in front of the historical venue of Riva shipyard, where today are realized the yacht of the Riva collection under 60’ like Sunriva 33’, Aquariva 33’, Rivarama 44’, Rivale 52’ e Mercurius 59’, and going on cruising to discover the pearls of the Sebino. During the three days, the crews challenged in emotionant and suggestive competitions, as well as the elegance challenge and the trials in the circuit of the motonautic worldchampionship. At the end of them, Sunday September 4th, during the gala dinner in the wonderfull Liberty setting of Villa Surre in Sarnico, the crews that obtained best results has been prized. RIVA TROPHY 2005: THE TROPHY DEDICATED TO RIVA OWNERS
It ended with the prizegiving dinner to the Cala di Volpe Hotel, the suggestive resort of the homonymous bay, the Riva Trophy 2005, the summer trophy dedicated to all the Riva owners. During the evening has been prized crews that, in the previous days, have been distinguished by ability and skill in the different trials both in the sea and ashore: the shipowners, with their boats, partecipates to reliability trials, mooring trials, elegance contest and driving ability. The meeting started from the Costa Smeralda Yacht Club terrace where, tursday August 8th, took place the opening cerimony of the meeting and the Riva gala dinner, with the presence of Norberto Ferretti, president of Riva and Ferretti Group, that, together with Giancarlo Galeone, CEO of Riva, wellcome the crews taking part at the Riva trophy 2005....more »

THE BIGGEST RIVA EVER BUILT HAS BEEN LAUNCHED
Last week in Liguria, the new model Riva 115' Athena has been launched. A launch press conference took place in the Riva shipyard in La Spezia, where the yacht has been built and where two other units are being bulit. Furthermore a gala dinner dedicated to Riva dealers and owners coming from all over the world took place in the charming frame of Portofino and Paraggi. With the birth of 115' Athena Riva writes the a new page in the history of pleasure boating. The new flagship, in fact, it is not only the biggest boat ever produced by Riva but also a challenge to obtain, with these sizes, the same standards of excellence, refinement and style making Riva so successful in the world. 115' Athena is 35,05 m long and 7,08 m wide. She has two MTU 12V 4000 M90 engines and can reach a maximum speed of 26,5 knots and a cruising speed of 23 knots....more »

FIRST HISTORICAL RIVA FIBERGLASS BOAT MEETING
Two wonderful sunny days have made unforgettable, at the Iseo lake, the First Riva Fiberglass Boat Meeting. Presenting the event to the numerous boat owners present, Giuseppe Meroni, responsible for Riva Image and Communication, has highlighted the meaning of an initiative that, in different places, will become in the future an annual encounter. "Riva", said Meroni, "has begun to build fiberglass watercrafts in 1969, 35 years ago, unique once again at the time for the innovative capacity and technological excellence". The culture and experience developed in a period of time so great, bases today the absolute quality of the last generation Riva boats, represented at the Meeting by an Aquariva. The boat owners have confronted themselves Saturday July 2nd in an enthusiastic Treasure Hunt and other games along the lake waters, on board of their historical Riva boats. The meeting has finished on the night of Sunday July 3rd with a pyrotechnical show above the water, admired directly from the boats....more »

RIVA WEB: RECORD IN JUNE
With a daily average of 1,073 visitors and 10,406 pages visited, the month of June has seen a new record of interest on Riva website. For the first time since the new website has been created, May 1st 2004, it has gone over the edge of 30 thousand of visitors per month (32,203) and it has reached the goal of 300 thousand pages visited (312,183). The increasing comparing June of last year is of more than 40%. Thanks to all friends, passionate navigators of Riva!...more »
