RIVA AT 2009 MILJONAIRFAIR IN AMSTERDAM

After the success achieved in the past editions, Riva came back this year also to the Miljonairfair in Amsterdam. The irreplaceable event for the luxury fans was held from 10th to 14th December 2009 and saw the presence of numerous participants among both exhibitors and attendees.

Riva, who was present at the show thanks to its exclusive dealer for The Netherlands, Lengers Yachts, displayed two among its iconic models: Aquariva Super and Rivale.
The two open yachts perfectly represent the actual style of the shipyard in which classic elegance and avant-garde design are carefully balanced and immediately conquered the favour of the visitors, who could admire closer also the aggressive and racy lines of the brand new 86’ Domino. A 1/30 scale model of the last born in the Riva family was in fact displayed at the stand.

THE RIVA EXCELLENCE ENCHANTS BESPOKE

After the success achieved in 2008, it came back this year at the Palazzo del Ghiaccio in Milan, Bespoke, event at its second edition and dedicated to the international excellence in lifestyle. From 12th to 15th November, a program rich in events, meetings and concerts valorised the selective relationship between arts and craftmanship, core concept of the exhibition during which, for the very first time, the prestigious Jaeger-Le Coultre “Venice Movie Star Award” was assigned.

Beside the main brands of the automobile industry, like Rolls Royce, and of fine watchmakers like Rolex and Patek Philippe, it could not miss Riva, unique representative of luxury boating industry, present at the event thanks to its exclusive dealer for Italy, Nautica Casarola.

RIVA PARTNER OF BEYONCE CONCERT IN EGYPT

The concert held on November 6th was the very first show of the international superstar Beyoncé Knowles in Egypt. In the suggestive surroundings of Port Ghalib, on the Red Sea, the American singer exhibited in front of her fans in one of the biggest music shows in the world.

Riva, partner of the event thanks to its exclusive dealer for Egypt, Synergy Trading, was present in the exclusive VIP area with a stand and an example of Aquariva Super, the model preferred by international jet setters that is the icon of the modern Riva style worldwide.

RIVA AT 2009 FT. LAUDERDALE BOAT SHOW

After the European boat shows, Riva came back to the US on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show, held from October 30th to November 3rd.

Represented by its exclusive dealer for the US, Allied Marine, Riva presented this year three of its main glories of the current production: Aquariva Super, Rivale and 68’ Ego Super.
Representative of the open production of the shipyard, these yachts are recognized all over the world as icons of the Riva style.

THE RIVA FLEET LANDS AT THE GENOA BOAT SHOW 2009

After the important presence at with the Cannes and Monaco boat shows, the Riva fleet moves to Genoa for the 49th edition of the Italian boat show.

The major role is played by the new entry of the family: the 86’ Domino, which registered an immediate success at the French shows winning also an award as BEST DESIGN YACHT in the over 24 metres category at the World Yachts Trophies. Together with it, the other pearls of the Riva collection, ready to enchant as usual the visitors of the kermesse thanks to their unique design: Aquariva Super, Rivarama, Rivale, SportRiva 56’, 63’ Vertigo, 75’ Venere and 92’ Duchessa.

THE 63’ VERTIGO LANDS IN GREECE

The 8th edition of the Exclusive Yachting boat show took place from the 17th to the 22nd of September at the Alsity Marina of Agios Kosmas. Greece's leading boat show, and one of the premium luxury yacht shows in the Mediterranean, confirmed its influence in the yachting world and the excellent participation of public reflects the dynamics of the Greek yachting market.

Like every year, Riva was represented by its exclusive dealer for the Country, Ekka Yachts, and featured two jewels of its modern collection: the Rivale and the 63’ Vertigo. This last one was at its première in Greece and immediately enchanted the visitors with its stunning design and its precious finishing. Ekka also won the first prize from the votes of exhibitors and visitors for its stand.

CRN AND RIVA TOGETHER AGAIN FOR AN EXCITING NEW PROJECT

Montecarlo, 24th September 2009 - CRN and Riva, two prestigious Ferretti Group brands, have announced a collaboration to launch a project for producing a new line of yachts, measuring 50 to 80 metres. Created by Mauro Micheli and Officina Italiana Design, the team that has designed the entire Riva range to date; the innovative new models skilfully combine the world renowned style and elegance of Riva, with the naval design skill and construction ability of the CRN shipyard in Ancona.

 
The CRN and Riva partnership is not new but has evolved from a strong history.  The relationship between the two brands, both now part of Ferretti Group, dates back almost 40 years to 1970 when Carlo Riva decided to annul the agreement Riva had with a Dutch shipyard, in order to sign a partnership with CRN, for the construction of megayachts designed by the Carlo Riva Yacht Division.
 
Besides simplifying logistics and giving Carlo Riva greater control over the process, the original partnership was made with the awareness that the exclusive artisan factor of the work and high technical-naval, plant and style level of CRN were a guarantee of top quality products. Five 23.5m motoryachts from the Marco Polo series and two Vespucci models measuring 90 and 100 feet, were launched between 1970 and 1978.
 
Today, the wish to combine Riva’s tradition, heedful of elegance and style, with CRN’s design experience and exclusiveness in the construction of megayachts is renewed, with the aim of servicing  an increasing demand for top quality megayachts with a unique, unmistakeable style.
 
Ferretti Group is already an example of the creation of an industrial pole through the acquisition and integration of yacht producers with highly complementary characteristics. This project shows, once again, how all the Group brands can efficiently contribute to a project which is unique on the global nautical scene, focusing on the different features and distinctiveness of each one,” declared Norberto Ferretti, Chairman and Founder of Ferretti Group. “This agreement has renewed a relationship established in the 70s by Carlo Riva, who had already grasped the huge potential of the two shipyards. I’m sure the launch of this entire range of new yachts on the market will bring us great satisfaction.”
 
It just seemed like a natural choice to make,” Lamberto Tacoli, Chairman of CRN, said, “within the sphere of the perfect synergy of a group which aims to continue innovating, and to maintain its leading position of the international nautical market. CRN and Riva have been unanimously acknowledged as brands of excellence, and our union in this project can only be synonymous with products of high quality and elegance.”
 
The project for the first model in the new line, a 68 metre yacht featuring clean lines, will be presented as a world preview at the XIX Monaco Yacht Show on 24th September 2009. Following this, an entire CRN and Riva range will be developed, beginning with a 50 metre model. The new collection will draw its inspiration from the current Riva range, of which it represents an ideal continuity in the megayacht universe. Although the designs slightly resemble some of the models of the past and draw on the historical relationship between the two shipyards; the projects have been devised as yachts of the future, combining CRN and Riva’s natural tendency to innovate with a constant attention to timeless design.

86’ DOMINO, REPRESENTING RIVA AT THE MONACO YACHT SHOW

 Riva 86’ Domino, recently unveiled exclusively for clients of the Iseo Lake shipyard in St. Tropez, and presented to the international press immediately afterwards at the Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes, moves to the Principality of Monaco as the brand’s exclusive representative.

Hence, one of the leading figures at the 19th Monaco Yacht Show will be a yacht which has caught the attention of an enthusiastic public and press since her debut.
86’ Domino will represent the shipyard, a symbol of Italian-made quality production and a synonym for style and elegance worldwide. With this new model, the largest open ever to be built by the shipyard has been added to the Riva range.
86’ Domino will be the only Riva displayed at the boat show, but not the only one in Monaco. After the success she enjoyed last year, 92’ Duchessa will also be present, moored in front of the boat show, at the wharf of Monaco Boat Service, the headquarters of Riva’s historical dealer.

RIVA AT AMSTERDAM’S IN-WATER BOAT SHOW 2009

It was held in Ijmuiden from September 1st to 6th, the 2009 edition of the “HISWA te Water”, Amsterdam’s in-water boat show.

Officially open by the Dutch Minister of Economics Affairs, the show confirmed this year an excellent participation by the local public.
Like the past years, Riva was present thanks to its exclusive dealer for The Netherlands, Lengers Yachts. Representing the brand on this occasion were the two main models of the shipyard’s small’ fleet: Aquariva Super, the timeless classic that with its 33 feet has become the new Riva icon, and Rivale, the 52 footer open merging an aggressive character with a refined elegance.

86’ DOMINO WINS IN CANNES

The new 86’ Domino, just successfully presented at the Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes, has already started catching prizes. Last night, during the traditional awarding ceremony World Yachts Trophies – organized by Luxmedia Group, one of the most important publishing companies in the worldwide nautical industry – Riva won with the 86’ Domino the prestigious Best Design award for yachts over 24 meters.

Norberto Ferretti, Chairman of the Group and of Riva as well, together with Francesco Frediani, Riva VP Sales and Marketing, proudly received the much sought after “Y”.

Riva celebrates the beginning of the new nautical year 2009/10 presenting to the market its newborn: the 86’ Domino.

Previewed successfully to friends and clients on the weekend of September 5th in St. Tropez, the brand new 86’ Domino is officially launched at world level at the Cannes boat show, which confirms its importance as an international window for pleasure boating.
 
On Thursday September 10th the yacht was presented to the international press through a crowded conference held by Francesco Frediani, VP Sales & Marketing.
 
This year too, Riva exhibits in Cannes its whole range: Aquariva, Rivarama, Rivale, SportRiva 56’, 68’ Ego Super, 75’ Venere, 86’ Athena and 92’ Duchessa are displayed at the stand, while 63’ Vertigo, 85’ Opera Super and 115’ Athena are moored in the sea outside the show and are joinable by guests with a vintage Aquarama put at disposal by the shipyard.

RIVA PRESENTS ITS 2009-2010 PRESS CAMPAIGN

Today, as in the past, the name Riva evokes timeless values, such as artisan skill, production excellence and innovative design. Said design makes every Riva a refined, elegant, timeless creation, a unity of original, essential, clean lines and a high performance. Each yacht has her very own personality, and meticulous attention is paid to detail. Hence, choosing Riva means choosing a specific taste and character. This choice extends far beyond simply purchasing a product, and welcomes clients to the world of the legend. Riva owners are an elite group which collects valuable objects, refined lovers of La Dolce Vita – any way, anywhere, worldwide.

 
The idea of the brand’s international natureand the Riva lifestyle is at the basis of the new advertising campaign, designed to support our dealers in their work, too. 
The line of a strong brand declaration is maintained for both company and dealers, featuring high impact images, strongly centred on the product. Set in the foreground, the Riva yacht is clearly the most prominent figure, and the image depicts her elegant profile, moored opposite the recognisable skyline of a world capital favoured by the jet set.
 
It is dusk, the lights are warm and evocative. The profiles of the city have softened, and the colours of the water mingle with the reflections of the hull, intensifying the soft lines of the yacht, the result of Riva design and a passion for life at sea and the freedom this gives.
 
Although each product is captured on the horizon of a different city, the individual elements are placed on the page in the same positions:
- in the background: a metropolitan skyline just before sunset;
- in the foreground: the yacht photographed in her most aerodynamic profile;
- in the bottom right hand corner: the glimpse of a wharf, hence the presence of strong anchorage, representing the stable connection of the yacht (and those on board) with the resort she is moored at. The passengers on board the Riva are not, in fact, simple travellers passing through, but rather lovers of the metropolitan life. Their yacht is moored there, whilst they are waiting to enjoy the night-life of the metropolis, and savour all it has to offer. 
 
The brand name is at the foot of the page as if it were a signature, set in a band of the company’s official colour, aquamarine. As of this year, the aquamarine will no longer be alternated with white, but has become a full colour, into which the onlookers’ eyes dive as if it were the sea, immersing them completely in the Riva world and into that which it represents worldwide: a symbol of Italian elegance and quality design.

86’ DOMINO PREVIEW IN THE COTE D’AZUR

Riva inaugurated the 2009-2010 nautical year with a stunning presentation in the spectacular setting of Côte d'Azur, namely in the famous town of St. Tropez, destination for the international jet set. This year, the traditional opening appointment of the season, which also marks the beginning of the new year prior to the official boat shows, was held on 5th September. The enchanting setting of the terrace on Mole Jean Reveillé in St. Tropez, the setting for legendary events in the lives of famous personalities on board of a Riva, was the stage for the gala event devoted to Riva owners. During the evening, the shipyard’s new model for 2009-2010 – the 86’ Domino - was revealed to those present.

Riva was, as always, accompanied by partners Credit Suisse, Veuve Clicquot, Vini Pasqua and San Pellegrino for the event, which featured shows, held before the new yacht was revealed.
86’ Domino was at the disposal of guests on the 6th September too, for visits on board.
Immediately afterwards, the yacht left the port of St. Tropez for Cannes where she will be the leading figure at the Festival de la Plaisance from 9th to 14th September, giving the general public the opportunity to admire her.

THE AQUARIVA AS AMBASSADOR OF THE BRAND IN LONDON

Once again, and still in London, Riva confirms its strong relationship with the automobile world that, since the 50s, has been a reference point in the design of its famous yachts. In the enchanting frame of the Georgian Hurlington Club in London, a specimen of the “spider of the sea” Aquariva, stood out among the luxury objects displayed at the Salon Privé, that took place from the 21st until the 24th of July.

Thanks to the collaboration of Riva’s exclusive dealer for Great Britain, Ventura UK, guests had the chance to admire the iconic model of Riva range.
Now in its fourth year, this one represent the most exclusive Super Cars event and Concours d’Elégance in the UK: an occasion during which the lucky attendees can admire from closer luxury vintage and modern cars displayed.
Among the important brands of different luxury fields, Riva was the only representative for the worldwide nautical industry at the event, and obtained a great success.

Ferretti S.p.A.: debt restructuring finalised and new Board of Directors appointed. Salvatore Basile new Chief Executive Officer.

Forlì, 22nd July 2009 – Ferretti S.p.A. announces the finalisation of its debt restructuring, according to an agreement which also envisages:

- reducing the long-term debt, from about €1.1 billion to around €550 million, against a conversion of credits into exit participation rights;
- the inflow of new funds through a capital increase of €85 million, of which €70 million underwritten by Chairman Norberto Ferretti and some of the Group management, the remaining € 15 million by Mediobanca – Banca di Credito Finanziario S.p.A.;
- further medium-term credit facilities to fund working capital requirements totalling €65 million;
- extension to medium-term of existing short-term facilities for a further € 24 million granted by three major financial institutions, already Ferretti group partners.

The Group’s equity is now held by Norberto Ferretti and the Group’s management (38.2%), Mediobanca (8.8%) and senior and mezzanine lenders (for a total of 53% in exit participation rights).

In particular, as a result of the agreement, Norberto Ferretti, the Group’s management and Mediobanca hold 100% of the Group’s voting rights.

Norberto Ferretti, the Group’s management and Mediobanca have finalized the acquisition of Ferretti S.p.A. and implemented the capital increase through newCo Ferretti Holding S.p.A., for which Mediobanca also acted as financial advisor.

Today, the Group’s shareholders also appointed the new Board of Directors, which will remain in office for the 2009–2011 period, until the General Shareholders' Meeting convened to approve the financial statements for the year ending August 31, 2011. The new Board of Directors is composed of the following members:
- Norberto Ferretti – Chairman
- Salvatore Basile – Chief Executive Officer
- Alessandro Foti – Vice Chairman
- Giancarlo Galeone – Director
- Lamberto Tacoli – Director
- Augusto Fantozzi – Director
- Mario Giuseppe Rossetti – Director

Salvatore Basile is the new Chief Executive Officer of Ferretti S.p.A. Chairman and Founder, Norberto Ferretti, the management and Mediobanca express their full satisfaction concerning the arrival of a highly experienced businessman and manager of Salvatore Basile’s stature.

The appointment of the new Board of Directors of Ferretti S.p.A. and Salvatore Basile as Chief Executive Officer represents a further step forward with the implementation of the Industrial Plan started in recent months, which will allow the Group to consolidate its leadership in the boating sector and to continue with the process of growth that has characterized its 41 years of history.

“I am very satisfied Salvatore Basile is joining our Group,” commented Norberto Ferretti, Chairman and Founder of the Ferretti Group. “By drawing on the strong experience he has accumulated over the years, Salvatore Basile will make a decisive contribution to the development of our projects. RIVA EXPANDS IN JAPAN

 

The Riva conquest of the Oriental lands keeps going on. To the existing dealership of Singapore and Hong Kong, in fact, a new agreement has been added, signed with the Lyu Company, a trading society for luxury brands based in Japan.
This new partnership is part of the general Riva project to expand in the new emerging markets, first of all in the Asian one. The agreement includes the exclusive distribution for Riva on the Japanese territory, beside the promotion of the brand through a series of dedicated events, able to let the invited guests live the Riva style, bringing them inside the world of the Myth.

RIVA IN THE HAMPTONS

It was held on June 20th at the Wolffer Estate Vineyard, in Sagaponak (New York), the ‘Ecofaboulous’ event, a charity auction linked to eco-friendly projects.

The cocktail and gala evening, that saw the participation of around 400 guests, created the occasion to present many products that, thanks to innovative technologies, reduce the pollutant emissions, like the new Long Range by Mochi Craft.
Riva, that participated to the event thanks to its exclusive dealer for the US, Allied Marine, put at disposal for the auction a two-hours cruise in the Hamptons on its iconic model: the Aquariva Super. The 33 footer was also displayed at the entrance of the location where the event took place, giving guests the chance to admire from closer the pure and elegant lines which have made it a model of timeless elegance and style all over the world.

FIFTY YEARS OF PASSION

 

The Riva legend, that dates back to more than 167 years now, is studded with many successes, with goals achieved and surpassed, with innovations that marked the international boating world and with numerous awards that, throughout the years, testified the quality and pureness of style of the Riva boats. But the long lasting story of the Italian yachting brand is above all marked by those people who have contributed to make the Riva name a status symbol, a true myth all over the world. People who chose to dedicate their life to this ‘family’ with passion, thus letting the Riva brand become even more special.
An important part of this group was celebrated last Friday, on June 26th, in Monaco, where the 50th anniversary party of the Riva’s historical dealer, Monaco Boat Service, was held.
The event was open with a cocktail on the docks, just in front of a Riva modern and classic fleet moored in the bay of Monaco’s harbour, and was attended by 250 guests, selected among clients and friends, and by Carlo Riva, the last member of the family who managed the shipyard.
A photo exhibition and a video, displayed inside the MBS hangar, recollected the main moments of these last 50 years and the international jet setters who crossed their history with the Italian brand, by picturing year by year the evolution of Riva’s exclusive dealer for France.
During the night numerous prizes were also awarded: to all the MBS employees with more than 20 years of service, to the historical clients of the distributor, to Carlo Riva as founder of the Monaco Boat Service, and to Lia Riva and Patrizio Ferrarese who have maintained a high quality service that have made the distributor a true reference point for all their clients.

RIVA – FERRARI TEST WEEKEND IN HOLLAND

The Riva-Ferrari Test Weekend  was held on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2009, an event organized by the Dutch exclusive dealer of the renowned Italian brand, Lengers Yachts, and by the Ferrari’s authorized distributor. The occasion was offered by the presentation to the Dutch public of the new Ferrari California, displayed in the lengers Yachts’ headquarter in Muiden, near Amsterdam. Beside it, there were also exposed some examples of Riva boats, both historic like the Aquarama and the Ariston, and of the current production like the Aquariva, the Rivarama and the Rivale. Guests who participated to the event, on invitation only, had the chance to go onboard the car and the boats, thus having the chance to admire from closer the precious finishing and the unique style that have made the Ferrari and Riva brands two icons of the pure Made in Italy.
