THE AQUARIVA PLAYS GOLF IN MIAMI WITH THE LEGENDS OF THE AMERICAN BASEBALL AND FOOTBALL LEAGUES
The 2006 edition of the “Swing with the Legends” event has achieved an amazing success. Sponsored by Forman-Cline, the tournament was held on 7th December at the Miami Beach Golf Course and gave participants the chance to play with the Hall of Fame representatives of the National Football League and of the Baseball Major League. MarineMax, Riva exclusive dealer for the Americas and partner of this event, chose to exhibit an Aquariva to represent its products on this important occasion. The 33 feet Riva was indeed exposed on the greens of the Miami Beach Golf Club where the stars of the American football and baseball leagues exercised their “swing” with the participants of the tournament....more »

A gala night has opened on Thursday 7th December the 5th edition of the Miljonair Fair, the luxury show to be held in Amsterdam until Monday 11th. Among the many famous jewellery and clockmaker international brands and the most renowned automobile firms, there couldn’t miss Riva, whose Rivarama and Rivale, two amongst its main models, where exhibited at the show. RIVA 68’ EGO: JUST ONE STEP LEFT FOR THE ADI GOLDEN COMPASS
The 68’ Ego, the first yacht of the Riva production in La Spezia, which was launched in May 2005, has been selected to feature in the ADI Design Index 2006, to be presented at the Triennale in Milan on 15th December. Publication in the Index represents the second of three steps, leading up to the XXI edition of the ADI Golden Compass. The award was established in 1954 by “La Rinascente” and the historical fathers of Italian industrial design and has become, over the years, the most renowned acknowledgment of quality in goods, services and systems. The selection, which follows strict procedures and exclusive merit criteria, was made by the permanent Observatory of Design, a group of 100 experts organised in commissions that operate at three different levels: territorial; thematic and technical. ROYAL AUCTION IN LONDON FOR THE AQUARIVA CENTO
The ten limited edition units were already sold out before entering production. Aquariva Cento, the special edition realized by Riva to celebrate the hundredth unit produced of its main model, have been created to be the boat of the Millennium and the immediate success it achieved just after its launch at the Genoa Boat Show 2006 leaves no doubts about the challenge results. The only boat available after the Genoa Boat Show, the true hull number one hundred, was sold on auction on 15th November during the Invest in Futures gala night organized in London by the Prince’s Trust, the charity established by HRH The Prince of Wales to help young lives in the UK. The Ferretti Group Chairman, Norberto Ferretti, and the Riva CEO, Ferruccio Rossi, met in the afternoon with the Prince Charles of England and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, and then they all went to the Roundhouse, in Camden Town, where the event took place. The Aquariva Cento was sold as final item of the auction just before the private concert by Sting....more »

BOYS AND GIRLS PARTY FOR RIVA IN THE US
Established in 1988 and held at the ultra-exclusive Fisher Island in Miami, Florida, the Boys and Girls Rendezvous is an extravaganza of theme parties, a black-tie gala, entertainment, yacht hops, celebrity guests, auctions and activities, that hosts some of the most beautiful mega-yachts on the sea today. Held this year from 9th to 12th November and organized by Showboats International, beside the mega-yachts that participated to the Rendezvous there was also an Aquariva. The purpose of the event is to sustain the Boys&Girls Clubs, a non-profit private agency which help young people age 7-17 improve their lives by building self-esteem and develop values and skills during their critical period of growth. RIVA’S COURSE IS DUE EAST
Riva universe is expanding further. Three more dealership agreements have been signed in October, covering the Asiatic areas of the market. In the Middle East, it has been appointed Riva dealer Yordam Ajans, from Istanbul, that will take care in exclusivity of the Turkish market, while two more agreements have been established in China and Korea by Stefano De Vivo, Riva Far East Area Manager since March 2006. Thanks to the partnership with Shanghai Horizon Yacht, the new Riva exclusive dealer for Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu and Fujian, the very first Aquariva will go to China in February 2007. This boat will also be the first and unique one on display inside the Central Pavilion at the Shanghai Boat Show, the most important boat show in China, in April 2007. Aju Autorental, based in Seoul, instead, will be Riva exclusive dealer for the South Korea and will be the first one to bring a Riva 68’ Ego in the Far East. East Area Markets are among the main targets of the shipyard on the Iseo Lake, most of all the Asiatic ones, that have just begun to open to pleasure boating and for this reason are growing fast. The choice of reliable partners is very important for Riva at this starting point, in order to establish solid bases above which it could be possible to build and then increase the brand presence in the territory....more »

The 46th Genoa Boat Show has given the shipyard the opportunity to officially launch the brand new corporate identity that, through some advertising pages, has begun to circulate since September. The vertical stripes and the acquamarina colour, reminding immediately to the glorious history of the shipyard, have been chosen to symbolize the modern Riva for they perfectly represent the nowadays aims of the shipyard: that is to maintain a strong relationship with past and tradition, in order to take from them the best inspiration to realize the new classics of tomorrow....more »

First day begun under the rain for the 46th edition of the Genoa International Boat Show, where Riva is present with all its range boats from 30 to 85 feet, except for the Sunriva. RIVA AND MILANOMADEINDESIGN: AFTER NEW YORK IT’S TORONTO TURN
After the great success of the US stop, the Milanomadeindesign exhibition has landed on 22nd September at Toronto. More than 2500 visitors, between 19th May and 10th June, visited the Milk Gallery of New York for the worldwide preview of the itinerant exhibition promoted to sustain the creativity and the entrepreneurial skills of Lombardy. 120 objects were exposed, all signed by the most famous griffes of the Lombard design. Among these, there was also a Riva motorboat: the Sunriva. Linked since ever to art and in particular to avant-garde design, that characterizes all its boats, Riva, as well as all the most important personalities of the entrepreneurial frame and of the Milanese institutions, has immediately accepted the idea of promoting the Lombard design-system abroad. After the Canadian stop, to be displayed until 12th November, the exhibition will land, in Spring 2007, at Pechino and Shangai. In order to let everybody know the excellence of the Lombard territory, the Contrasto Editions has printed a catalogue titled “Territorio, uomini, idee” that, inspired by the exhibition, presents through texts and images, the themes, places, entrepreneurs and designers who symbolize Lombardy. It ends today the 2006 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, where Riva has been present with two among its biggest jewels: the 115’ Athena and the 75’ Venere. Many visitors have come to admire the two elegant flys, symbols of Riva modern production. Both realized in La Spezia yard, these two represent Riva winning challenge in building boats of big sizes, keeping the same excellent quality and the same style that have made its motorboats so famous all over the world. THE FESTIVAL INTERANTIONALE DE LA PLAISANCE OF CANNES 2006 EDITION HAS STARTED
The Festival International de la Plaisance 2006 edition has started yesterday in Cannes and will host pleasure boating lovers from all over the world until 18th September. For Riva, the nautical year 2006/2007 has begun in the best possible way, presenting itself with four new models, an extraordinary result for the historical shipyard of Sarnico. Apart from already famous gems such as Aquariva, Rivarama, Rivale and 68’ Ego, they are exposed for the first time in a boat show: the Shuttle, the 30 footers tender which represent another step forward for the shipyard; the 63’ Vertigo, the latest Riva open, as usual a masterpiece of design, the 75’ Venere, the elegant fly launched last May in La Spezia; and the 85’ Opera Super, an innovative restyling of the model that used to be the admiral of the shipyard until 2005. THE FESTIVAL INTERANTIONALE DE LA PLAISANCE OF CANNES 2006 EDITION HAS STARTED
The Festival International de la Plaisance 2006 edition has started yesterday in Cannes and will host pleasure boating lovers from all over the world until 18th September. For Riva, the nautical year 2006/2007 has begun in the best possible way, presenting itself with four new models, an extraordinary result for the historical shipyard of Sarnico. Apart from already famous gems such as Aquariva, Rivarama, Rivale and 68’ Ego, they are exposed for the first time in a boat show: the Shuttle, the 30 footers tender which represent another step forward for the shipyard; the 63’ Vertigo, the latest Riva open, as usual a masterpiece of design, the 75’ Venere, the elegant fly launched last May in La Spezia; and the 85’ Opera Super, an innovative restyling of the model that used to be the admiral of the shipyard until 2005. RIVA CONFIRMS ITS PRESENCE ON THE EUROPEAN MARKET: TWO NEW DEALERS IN SWEDEN AND SPAIN
Riva process of increasing its sales corners within the European market has made another step forward. Starting from September 2006, in fact, the dealership agreements have been signed with two new partners in Spain and Sweden. Thomas Gulve, whose headquarters are based in Harval, will be Riva exclusive dealer for Sweden, taking care also, but not in exclusivity, of the Danish country. In this way Riva strengthens its sales force in the Scandinavian country, where it was present, ‘til now, only with Normarine, Riva exclusive dealer for Norway. In Spain, instead, Wunder Nautic will support the two existing dealers, Ventura Yachts and Ibiza Yacht Service, becoming Riva exclusive dealer for Barcelona and the Catalonia....more »

GREAT SUCCESS FOR THE FIFTH EDITION OF THE RIVA DAY ON THE MAGGIORE LAKE
Forty Riva, representing the classic and the current production, pictured within the beautiful frame of the Maggiore Lake and the Borromeo Islands. These are the main ingredients of the Riva Day, the classic meeting, this year at its fifth edition, organized by the Poroli Shipyards Special Boats, Riva exclusive dealer for Switzerland. On 2nd August, Aquarama, Ariston, Caribe and Rivale met in Ascona to participate to this exciting day, during which owners were given the chance to enjoy at the most the boating on one of the most wonderful Italian lakes. After a pic-nic “on board” on the south part of the Lake, the day ended boating back to the Swiss coasts and with a gala dinner at the luxury Eden Roc Hotel in Ascona....more »

VERTIGO EDITION OF THE FIFTH RIVA TROPHY IN PORTO CERVO
Three exciting days, full of surprises and dedicated to fun and relax. This can easily be the summary of the 5th edition of the Riva Trophy, the summer event which has already become a “must” for Riva owners. This year it has taken place from 8th to 10th August in Porto Cervo. 20 boats have taken part to the event, representing the Shipyard’s production: from Aquarama to Corsaro, from Tropicana to Mercurius and the current production like Aquariva, Rivarama and Rivale. The opening night at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda has also been the occasion to launch to exclusive guests the brand new 63’ Vertigo, the ultimate top luxury open produced by Riva. The harmonic and sensual line of the boat has emerged from the night shadows, enlightened by a full moon dimmed light, accompanied by the Traviata notes and by a light breeze, suspending the time and leaving all the attendants just ecstatic. The day after, the navigation skills competition has occupied the participants in a course from the Pevero Gulf to Olbia Boat Service, Sardinian headquarters of Nautica Casarola, historical Riva dealer. Later on, the owners have tested their artistic skills and aroused the curiosity of the other boats moored in the Cala di Volpe while fitting out their motor yachts in “Red & Silver” colours of Audi, Riva partner also on this occasion. The event has ended with a gala dinner at the Starwood Hotel & Resort Cala di Volpe, during which the winners have been awarded. Two fibreglass historical models, the Black Corsair and the Tropicana, has won respectively the navigation and elegance competitions, while a special jury prize has awarded the bubbly creativity, shown during the elegance competition, of the Rivale “la chica” crew. COURTESY RIVA FOR THE GUESTS OF THE AMERICA’S CUP
The arrival in Europe of the America’s Cup, 150 years after its birth, has seen so far a long and enthusiastic series of events within a four-years schedule of regattas started in 2004. The last 3 Acts, 10-11-12, pictured on the frame of Valencia, have also seen the participation of Riva, which has put at disposal of VIPS and guests a “courtesy Surniva” to reach the famous club/restaurant Foredeck. The luxurious runabout of 33’ was the only boat admitted in the Valencia Superyachts Marina, the area reserved to megayachts from 35 to 80 metres, where the challengers were hosted. The project of Riva participation on this important occasion has been organized by the Shipyard together with Ibiza Yacht Service, Riva exclusive dealer for the Balear Islands, which take care of the contact with the America’s Cup organization. The 32nd America’s Cup Acts’ program for the 2006 ended on 2nd July, the next rendez-vous, in Valencia again, will be in April 2007....more »

IN MONACO AND ST. TROPEZ THE MOON GET DRESSED WITH RIVA
It ended on Saturday 8th July the first edition of the Riva Trophy Monaco-St. Tropez. The event, inspired by the successful meeting of Porto Cervo, that this year will take place as usual from 8th to 10th August, has given the occasion to Riva owners to meet in some of the utmost exclusive places on the Côte d’Azur having fun and enjoying their boats at the most. This brand new Riva rendez-vous, already to become one of the fixed dates in summer from now on, has seen the participation of 15 boats, which perfectly represent the Riva production since the 70s till today. Alongside two wonderful Super Aquaramas, in facts, they were present at the Trophy also a St. Tropez, a Diable, a Splendida and a Mercurius, fibreglass models which are perfect representatives of the Shipyard’s history. Obviously they couldn’t miss the current models: Aquariva, Rivarama, Rivale and even a brand new 75’ Venere, the model presented on last May in La Spezia. The Trophy has begun on Friday 7th with a reliability trial that measured participants navigation skills on a course between Monaco and St. Tropez and has continued with an afternoon on the Plage de Jumeaux dedicated to relax and fun, granted by the Pétanque competition organized by Veuve Clicquot. The day after, owners were given the chance to test their drive ability on the Leluc circuit thanks to the new Q7 put at disposal by Audi. The total amount of points gained during the different competitions has determined the winner of the Trophy, who has been given an original artwork made by Jean Michel Folon, the artist recently disappeared who was strictly linked to Riva. It has been the new 75’ Venere, which has also won the elegance competition. Alongside being the ones in challenge, the participants have been the judges of 7 artworks inspired by Riva. In this way the shipyard has affirmed once again its link with art. Participants chose the one realized by the artist Van Naeltwijck, while a selected jury of experts voted as the winner of the “Riva Art Trophy” Laurent Bosio. The winning sculpture, will be next year’s prize for the winner of the Riva Trophy. This event, organized with the collaboration of Riva’s historical dealer Monaco Boat Service and the Yacht Club Monaco, has also given the chance to present the brand new Riva Jewels collection, an exclusive line with an innovative design, steel made with gold and diamonds, that take its inspiration from themes and symbols of Riva world. Moreover, during the gala night on Saturday, also charity has played a major role, thanks to the support given to MAP association and in particular to its project linked to the ophthalmologic sustain in Niger.
